Distribution of MR-CoNS in the clinical staffs of tertiary care hospital

Methicillin-resistant coagulase-negative staphylococci (MR-CoNS) associated infection is a growing concern in healthcare settings now day. MR-CoNS are the main infectious agents of hospital acquired infection. Clinical staffs to patients transmission resistant strains have caused rapid increase prevalence antimicrobial resistance recent years. Growing rate against available antibiotics developing problem low income or lower middle counties. This study was conducted determine occurrence isolated from different clinical tertiary care hospital. prospective staffs, nasal swab were collected all participants. Screening CoNS done on basis cultural, morphological and biochemical tests, identification AST analysis by VITEK-2 automated system. Methicillin pattern checked Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method according CLSI guideline. A total 129 samples which n=81 isolates (85.6%) CoNS. Among CoNS, (48.12%) , (41.97%) (7.4%) (2.4%) reported. Out isolates, n=26 conformed as MR-CoNS. Maximum methicillin reported 53.48% (14/26), 42.30% (11/26), 3.84% (1/26) 0% (0/26). Theoccurrence higher (20.6%) workers most resistant-CoNS shows high level widely used but susceptible vancomycin.
